Questions
Questions we hear most
How long should a system last?
Many central air systems run 12 to 15 years in a hot climate, and a furnace often runs longer. Maintenance and installation quality change that.
How do I know whether to repair or replace?
Age and repair history are the first clues. If a repair makes more sense, we say so.
How is the size of the system chosen?
From a load calculation (Manual J) of your house, not from the size of the old unit. The explanation is on the home page.
Does the home visit have a fee?
When you book, we tell you whether it does and whether it is credited toward the work.
Do you pull the permit?
A replacement usually needs a city mechanical permit and an inspection. It is its own line on the quote, and we handle it.
Do you offer financing?
Through a lender. Rates and terms are the lender's and depend on approved credit. See the financing page.
How often should I change the filter?
It depends on the filter and the house. We show you the filter size and where it goes on install day, and write the interval on your paperwork.
Is a better filter the same as an air cleaner?
No. A filter catches particles as air passes through it; an air cleaner is a separate device. Some systems cannot take a thicker filter, and we check before we recommend one.
What if the system fails on a weekend?
We are a replacement and installation company, not an overnight repair line. Our hours are at the top of every page, and messages left after hours are returned the next business morning.
What if a carbon monoxide alarm goes off?
Leave the house and call 911 first, before you call anyone else.
